VIDEO: How it Works

Each stainless steel Scrub Rack is custom fabricated with custom welding for your individual surgical instruments.
A set of 10 Scrub Racks can hold approximately 300 to 400 surgical instruments which are cleaned and maneuvered in a fraction of the time it takes to clean the surgical instruments by hand.

Steps To Cleaning Surgical Instruments with Scrub Racks

Soiled instruments are gathered after surgeries and soaked in cleaning solution to begin the Scrub Racks cleaning process. This helps prevent biomatter from drying on instruments.

STEP#1:

In the Scrub Racks System, instruments are gently poured into the colander, rinsed off and drained.

STEP #2:

Surgical Instruments are transferred onto a towel in front of the Scrub Racks Board and sorted onto its specific Scrub Rack. Although separating instruments traditionally occurs at the end of the cleaning process, with Scrub Racks, it occurs at this step.  Scrub Racks hold the instruments open, facing down, and allow easy placement onto and off of the Rack.

STEP #3:

Multiple surgical instruments are brush-cleaned on each Scrub Rack using a soapy brush from every angle, then rinsed.  The end stoppers on the Scrub Rack arms allows each rack to be carefully turned upside down for easy access to the open instruments’ most soiled areas without the instruments sliding off. With Scrub Racks, 10 Scrub Racks can clean and maneuver 300 to 400 surgical instruments in a fraction of the time it takes to individually clean them by hand.

STEP #4:

Load brushed and rinsed racks into the ultrasonic cleaner until the ultrasonic cleaner is full. Make sure all instruments are fully submerged in the cleaning solution.     Smaller Scrub Racks can nest closer to larger Scrub Racks to fit more racks and instruments.   Scrub Racks keep the instruments open and facing downward for optimal cleaning. Run the ultrasonic cleaner for approximately 9 to 10 minutes.

When the ultrasonic cleaner cycle is complete, immediately remove, rinse, and hang Scrub Racks onto the Scrub Racks Board to dry.  Open instruments on the Scrub Rack will dry faster.

STEP #8:

Spray lubrication on instruments’ hinges on the Scrub Racks Board. This eliminates the mess and need to wipe excess lubricant from instrument surfaces, saving time and effort.

STEP #9:

After inspecting and approving that the surgical instruments meet your requirements, pull packs for autoclaving.  With Scrub Racks, surgical instruments are easily picked and pulled for surgical packs by lifting them up from the scrub rack.  They intentionally will not come off easily if they are not lifted upward.

STEP #10:

With the Scrub Rack System you now have fully cleaned surgical  instruments, that are lubricated and optimally positioned in the board for faster picking of surgical packs.  The efficiencies created by the system will save your operation time, effort and allow for better control over your surgical instrument inventory.
